2023-24 Centreville Moose Scholarship Recipients
The Moose fraternity is a family based organization dedicated to the care of children and senior citizens. We believe in supporting our community as civic minded volunteers and sincerely want to encourage young adults to give back to their community through volunteerism. The Centreville Moose Lodge, in the City of Fairfax, will award one or more scholarships to senior students graduating from Fairfax High Schools. To be eligible, applicants must be accepted (or awaiting acceptance) to an accredited public junior/community college, a public four-year college/university, or an accredited trade school, in the Commonwealth of Virginia, as a full-time student.
Scholarships are awarded based on scholastic achievement, extra-curricular participation, community service, and financial need. Scholarship amounts vary based on the number of recipients. They are generally $5,000 each.
The schedule for applications, review and award is as follows:
Applications Available - First week of December - will be available online via the Fairfax County Public Schools scholarship database or by calling Centreville Moose Lodge #2168 at 703-385-4403
Applications Due - First week in April
Selection Committee Review - NLT second week in May
Award of Scholarships - May 31 - The scholarship recipients will be chosen by the last week in May. The scholarship recipients will be notified by May 31, 2024. The scholarship amount will be sent directly to the Bursar of the post-secondary institution to which the student has been accepted.
