Moose - The Heart of the Community
The Centreville Moose Lodge strives to provide superior services and benefits as part of our Heart of the Community Efforts. This is a summary of our HOC efforts for the Fraternal Year 2022-23:
Total Monetary Donations - $17,786
Total Volunteer Hours - 4,550 Hours
Total Miles Driven - 8,690 Miles
Core Initiatives:
Mooseheart/Moosehaven - $11,658 cash donations
Youth Awareness - $400 cash donations
Tommy Moose - Appearances at the 4th of July Parade, Tommy Moose dolls donated to City of Fairfax Fire Station #3, Tommy Moose Halloween bags, coloring books and book marks donated at the Fall festival and to the library
Safe Surfin' - $400 cash donation
Veterans Programs - Hosted two Appalachian Highland's Honor Flights, materials, cash and labor hour donations to K9's for Warriors, Vets House & patriot's Kids Camp
Companion Initiatives:
Senior Center or Children's Hospital/Wing - over $3,100 worth of clothing and other items to Fairfax INOVA Thrift store supporting the Children's wing. Donated $300 to VMU Richmond Children's Hospital, and $200 to the Massy Cancer Center.
Scouting - donated over 950 pounds of canned goods and personal items to the Girl Scout's Blessing Box in van Dyke park.
Youth Sports - sponsor of a Challenge League Baseball team (disabled children), and Gold Lion Sponsor ($1,200 donation) for Fairfax High School Soccer, Track and Football Teams.
Salvation Army - donated approximately $800 worth of clothing and personal items to the Thrift Store. Donated toys and stockings for Christmas.
Special Olympics - $200 donation to the Special Olympics Softball Tournament.
Other Local Volunteer/Services
Host of the monthly Inter-Service Club Council (ISCC) Luncheon meetings
Donated over $1,000 in food and personal items to the Robinson House (half-way center).
Donated food and clothing to the Lamb Center, Second Story, Kate Hanley Center for Abused Women, Susan G Kohlman Cancer fund, and District #4 food bank drive.
